Hasan Hammo - Educator and Leader in Internal Medicine

Hasan Hammo is a physician involved in patient care, medical education, and internal medicine. With extensive training in both Jordan and the United States, Hasan Hammo has developed expertise across inpatient medicine, outpatient care, and specialized procedures, while also taking on administrative and advocacy roles that support patients and resident physicians.

Hasan Hammo began his professional journey at Prince Hussein General Hospital in Jordan, where he served as a general practitioner for his government-mandated internship year. This formative experience exposed him to the challenges of providing care in a resource-limited setting, particularly for patients from the large refugee community served by the hospital. He rotated through internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and obstetrics, gaining broad-based skills that established the foundation for his career.

In 2021, Dr. Hammo moved to Chicago to begin his internal medicine residency at Stroger Hospital of Cook County Health. Over the course of three years, he trained in one of the country’s most rigorous and diverse residency programs, gaining experience across multiple subspecialties in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In recognition of his leadership, he was appointed as chief medicine resident at the same hospital between 2024 and 2025.
